Going Mini Bowling! Arcading too!

In the holidays the kids went to the mini bowls at Metrolanes in the city.

They had a special $9.00 per kid for 1 game!

It was heaps of fun the kids. They enjoyed it!

Then they went to play the arcade games at game on. They got a gaming card which has all their credits for the games on it. They could win prizes too!

Then off to burger place for some burgers for dinner.

Where have the posts gone?

Hi friends!

It's definitely been a while since I last posted. To be truly honest, I forgot about the blog. Oops!

Well the kids have grown up a lot, the oldest is almost 14. The youngest is 5, has started primary school and isn't liking the idea of leaving mum at home while he goes off to have fun.

We have changed our channel name to something more specific, and as the years pass by I feel we need yet another change as our channel changes. Toys, Family, Fun & Games by 7 is quite a mouthful when you think about it. Family and friends ask what is our channel name again, because they have forgotten, and they want to check out a video.
We have been throwing around ideas for a name since the start 2019. Josef the eldest is chomping at the bit to host and create a new gaming channel. I have my worries as does any parent does when it comes to school and video games.
Video games influences the other children too. The girls, not so much as they would rather read, write, draw, make secret slime, make books, make puzzle and make different board games.
We hope to show you what they have created one day.

If we do eventually change our name there would be a big celebration as it would coincide with reaching 1k subscribers, that number just seems to escape our grasp each time we get close.
At one point we had 980 subscribers! So very close but that has since fallen down to 970+. That is something that was entirely my fault, as I was busy and had put the channel on the back burner.

It's usually around vlogmas we start to amp the channel up and start to get things done on the channel and once vlogmas is over the channel dies down again.
Not great for our subscribers.
2020 is hot on our heels and I'm hoping we can continue with content on our channel for the whole year!

I have invited my older children to be posters to this blog and I am waiting to see what they come up with.

Thanks for sticking with us, and for the new people, thanks for stopping by!

♥ Minion Cupcakes!! Banana! Cupcakes! ♥

Hi friends, hope you all have had a nice day.
The kids made cupcakes with a special tribute to the minions. They adore minions and wanted to make banana cupcakes since the minions love bananas.

So here is the recipe we used.

Minion Cupcakes Recipe

100gm Butter
185gm Castor Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
2 Eggs
200gm Self Raising Flour
1/2 Cup of Milk (Standard or Lite)
1 ripe banana

Prepare the cupcake tins with cupcake liners. Make sure the butter is soft by either leaving out of the fridge until it's soft or putting it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds until it's soft.
Turn the oven on Bake and at 200 degrees Celsius.

1. Mix the butter, castor sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl until it's pale.
2. Add an egg in one at a time and mix until combined.
3. Add in half of the flour and mix until combined, then add half of the milk until it's combined.
Then pour the remaining flour in and mix, and then the remaining milk and mix until it's combined.
4. Mash the banana until its thick with no lumps and add it to the cupcake batter.
5. Mix until its combined.
6. Spoon the batter into the cupcake tins. Making sure not to over fill the cupcake liners.
7. Put the tins into the oven for 15-20 minutes. Or until the top of the cupcakes are golden brown, and springy when you lightly touch the tops of the cupcakes.
8. When cooked, put on to cake racks to cool.

Minion Icing Recipe

1 Cup of Icing sugar
Warm water
Food colouring (Yellow, Black) (Optional: Blue for the overalls)
Toothpicks or something to aid in creating minion faces.

1. Mix together the icing sugar and about a table spoon of warm water. If the consistancy of the icing is too runny add a little more icing sugar. If it's too thick add a little more warm water.
2. Divide into 3 seperate bowls.
3. Add yellow to one mixture, black to one mixture and leave the last mixture white.
If you chose to have blue make sure you divide the mixture into 4 and have one for the blue coloring.
4. Now you are ready to start icing your cupcakes!

Icing Minion Cupcakes

1. Cover the whole cupcake top with yellow icing.
(You may want to wait for a minute or two to let the icing set for a bit before continuing.)
2. Next using a toothpick get some white icing and drip it near the top side of the cupcake, you'll be making the eyes. Make sure you have enough to make the eyes. Make them round and big. But not to big otherwise you wont be able to fit in the frames of their goggles. (Or you could have a one eyed minion)
3. Now using Black icing, add small pupils for the eyes. and go around the whites of the eyes with black and add some straps on the side of the goggles that go to the edge of the cupcake.
4. Next is adding a mouth using the white icing again, make a little oval shape under the goggles.
5. Using black icing, make a mouth shape making sure to outline the mouth. You can make your minion smile or frown. What ever you like.
6. Now finish off with the hair or not you may want this minion cupcake to have no hair at all.

Yay! All finished. All that's left to do is to eat it! Yummy!

Here's the video!

Hope you will make some minion cupcakes! Bye!!

NEW Play Doh Challenge Guessing Game!!!!

Hi friends!
Josef, Layla, Bella and Noah all played a Play-doh game today. It was fun and exciting.
Here's how to play.

This game is good for 2 or more players.
You'll need:
Play-doh for each person.
Bowl or hat
Pieces of small paper with things, characters, food, animals, objects written on them.

Fold all the pieces of paper in half. Then put them into the bowl or hat.
Each kid gets a turn taking out a piece of paper, and then uses the Play-doh to make what was written on the piece of paper. Usually 30-40 seconds to mold the Play-doh.

After time is called, everyone else has a turn guessing what was molded out of the Play-doh.
Whoever guesses correct gets 1 point.
The game ends when everyone has had a turn. The player with the most points wins!

In this video it's the very first round.
I hope you enjoy and thanks for visiting!
Have a great day!

This game can be played by different ages, be used in groups too!

Lolly Cake Making Madness!! Yummy No Bake Easy for kids Lolly Cake ♥

Hi friends, the kids over at Collector By 7 made Lolly Cake, an easy to make no bake cake that kids can make.
So here is the video of the kids making it:

Lolly Cake has to be made a least 2 hours in advance of using the cake.

Great for kids parties or just as snack. You can slice them thinner or thicker. We love lolly cake, but will only have 1 slice each. It's sweet very much like a slice. If you roll it in dried coconut it will taste even better!
Who would have thought using a few ingredients would make such a delicious cake!

Here is the recipe how to make it.

Lolly Cake.
Ingredients:
1 Packet of Malt Biscuits.
1 Packet of Eskimo lollies or Fruit Puffs. You could use similar lollies to these as well!)
1/2 Can of Condensed Milk about 200g.
120gm of Butter.
Optional - 1 Cup of Dessicated Coconut.

1. Crush the biscuits, in a zip lock bag. Using the back of a spoon start crushing. You could also chuck the biscuits into a food processor to crush them.

2. Chop up the lollies into bits, we cut them up into 3. Break them with your hands is an easy option too!

3. In a different bowl, pour in condensed milk and put the butter into the bowl and zap in the microwave for 30 seconds each time until the butter has melted. Don't worry if there are lumps from the butter, just give it a stir and the butter will eventually melt.

4. Pour the biscuits and lollies into the butter mixture and mix well. Making sure you get all the crumbs at the bottom of the bowl!

5. When everything is mixed, squash it all onto baking paper on a plate or a flat dish and mould into a roll or a cake what ever shape you want. (At this point if you wanted to roll it in dried coconut, do that now.)

6. Cover with baking paper, and put it in the fridge for 2 hours or until it has set. You can check to see if it's hard to cut.

7. Once it's set you can take it out of the fridge, and slice it up to how ever thick you want.

That's it! Easy and simple!

Hope you enjoyed this recipe. Have a great day. Why not stop by our YouTube Channel Collector By 7 to check out more videos that we have.

NEW! Jelly Tip Biscuits Taste Test! Yummy!!

Hi friends, the kids from Collector By 7 got to taste the Jelly Tip Biscuits made by Griffins. Tip Top joined forces with Griffins and created this yummy creation. Here is what they thought of the biscuits.

It's got a biscuit base, then a creamy filling then a delicious layer of raspberry jelly all covered in milk chocolate!

It's one of my favourites now. The kids enjoyed it and were left wanting more!

Here is the packet.

The biscuit is not hard to bite into. There is a taste of coconut in the biscuit base. The jelly has a taste of turkish delight and raspberry jam in it.
The chocolate is creamy melt in your hand chocolate. The cream is milky smooth on the tastebuds.

The best way to try it is pop them in the fridge foe bit before eating them. Yummy!!
